When you book "a mid-size sedan" or "a compact SUV" with Enterprise or Hertz, you aren't choosing a specific car — you're choosing a class, and they assign you an available vehicle from it. What is a "vehicle class"?

A class is a group of similar cars at the same size and comfort level. When you book a class, we guarantee you a car from that group — "guaranteed class or similar" — and assign your specific vehicle before pickup. OreGO offers three classes:

• 1. Pick a class. Choose Economy, Standard Sedan, or Compact SUV based on how much space you need.
• 2. Enter your trip details. Add your pick-up and return dates and times, plus where you'd like the car — PDX Airport, a hotel, or any Portland address.
• 3. See your price instantly. You'll see the discounted class rate, the 17% Multnomah County rental tax where it applies, and your estimated total — before you pay. A $200 refundable deposit is collected at checkout.
• 4. We assign your car. We reserve an available vehicle from your chosen class and confirm your specific car before pickup, then deliver it to you free.

Why is a class booking cheaper?

Flexibility is valuable to us. When you lock in one exact car, that vehicle is off the board for everyone else — even if a similar car in the same class is sitting idle. When you book a class instead, we can assign whichever car in that group makes the most sense on your dates. That efficiency lets us pass a 15-18% discount straight back to you. You get the same size and comfort level for less; we keep the fleet moving.

Should you book a class or a specific car?

Book a class if you just need reliable transport at a certain size and want the lowest price — for example, "any compact SUV for a weekend at the coast."
